Think It’s Just Menopause?
Maybe. Maybe Not.
Let’s Find Out.

Hormonal symptoms can show up at any age—and in both men and women. For some, it’s hot flashes. For others, it’s anxiety, fatigue, or a drop in drive. You don’t have to wait for menopause (or guess your way through it) to know something’s off.

For Women

  • Irregular or heavy periods
  • Mood swings or anxiety
  • Brain fog or forgetfulness
  • Weight gain or bloating
  • Low libido or vaginal dryness
  • Fatigue and low motivation
  • Hot flashes or night sweats

For Men

  • Low energy or burnout
  • Loss of muscle or strength
  • Brain fog or poor focus
  • Low libido or poor performance
  • Mood shifts or irritability
  • Poor recovery from workouts
  • Loss of drive or motivation

Hormonal imbalance doesn’t always come with flashing lights. Sometimes it shows up as burnout, brain fog, or just not feeling like yourself anymore.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a treatment that helps restore hormonal balance by supplementing estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone when levels decline—often due to aging, menopause, or other health conditions.

When prescribed and monitored by a qualified physician, HRT is considered safe for most people. Risks vary depending on age, health history, and the type of hormones used. That’s why every guest at Pearl receives personalized treatment overseen by Dr. Degurse.

For women, HRT is commonly used to relieve symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, mood swings, sleep issues, and vaginal dryness. It can also support bone health and overall well-being.

In men, HRT usually refers to testosterone replacement therapy. It may help improve energy, libido, muscle mass, mood, and cognitive clarity when testosterone levels have declined.

Common signs include fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, weight gain, low libido, poor sleep, and hot flashes. If you feel like your body isn’t responding the way it used to, it’s worth a medical evaluation.

If symptoms return or haven’t improved after starting HRT, your dosage may need adjusting. We monitor labs and symptoms closely at Pearl to make sure you’re on the right dose—not too little, not too much. Oh…and you’re dealing directly with Dr. Degurse, MD.

This is one of the most common concerns. HRT itself doesn’t typically cause weight gain. In fact, optimizing your hormones can actually support a healthier metabolism and body composition.

Not necessarily. If your hormones become imbalanced again after stopping HRT, it may lead to symptoms that make weight management harder—not easier. Any decision to stop should be guided by a physician.
